Renovation of a 25 year old load bearing structure into an aesthetically pleasing service apartment by adding an uptown mood. We were tasked by our client on the change in function of the building. The front facade was also one of his major concern since the site stood low amid the massive later developed jungle of structures, he wanted it to look modern. In order to suffice the requirements, minor changes were made to the interior walls. The exterior windows were enlarged by providing lintel beams for extra skeletal support to make it more inviting and an extra floor was added to accommodate a guest house. We decided to provide steel temporary structure for the additional floor because we did not want to take the risk of adding too much stress on a load-bearing structure.
